What is
Torrens Together?

"One need not have been Caesar
in order to understand Caesar."
Max Weber
Torrens Together is an Australia-wide art project from all Torrens campuses; centered around indigenous practices, cultural respect, history, truth-telling, and the personal journeys of our students toward reconciliation.
Reflection is an important part of assessing our grip on reality, helping us to understand the gears that turn us and the people that surround us. To see what's working, what needs improving and what needs to be overhauled.
To enhance the power of reflection we focus it through the lens of art.
Art is a powerful ally - Art makes us feel. Art makes us inspired. Art makes us question who we are. It holds the mirror for us - to stare deeply into it and create what we see.
Art reflects what is within. Art gives voice to every thought, and every feeling and every experience and moment of learning can be traced through what we create and share with one another.
Utilising art as an entry point to difficult topics such
as indigenous politics and reconciliation - removes the barriers that people may feel when approaching these subjects. Creating an environment of understanding, empathy and sparks of action across our campuses.
Each campus has a different story.
A different chapter in the book of our nation's history.
Be sure to check out each one and see what our students have made on their journey of national reconciliation
